Aylesbury Granulation Services have recently started to help businesses recycle their redundant plastic packaging. We can help with the recycling of PP lids, HDPE pots, PET trays, PP tubs, PS lids, to name but a few.
Plastic packaging can become redundant all too easily, and often sits in a warehouse for many years before it is sent for recycling. We recently recycled some lids which were manufactured in the USA back in 2007 and had been sitting in storage for over a decade!
What redundant plastic packaging be recycled?
All plastic packaging can be recycled if it is made from a pure polymer. So plastics which we can help with include PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), PS (polystyrene), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PC (polycarbonate) and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).
How does it work?
Most waste is delivered in to us directly, but if you do not have this facility we can arrange transport for you. We decant all of the stock and then feed it into our granulator which produces a 10mm flake which can be used back into plastics manufacturing.

Is there a cost to recycling redundant plastic packaging?
For any recyclable materials we offer a rebate, which is per metric tonne, however this will be somewhat offset by a per box decanting charge. However, with every job that we have run to date this option is not just the best environmental option, but it also works out the most cost effective, as disposal often costs upwards of £200 per tonne.
What do we need from you?
The first thing to do is to take some pictres and get a full stock list. It is important that you know what material the packaging is made from, and this will normally be embossed on the product, but is sometimes printed onto the outer carton.
Send you pictures, stock information and material data over to Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will get back you with a plan for recycling your redundant plastic packaging waste.
If we can help you further, in any way then please do not hesitate to contact us and let’s chat.
